To calculate the score, an athlete will reduce their 5K run time by 30 seconds for each successful lift (maximum 30 reps for a maximum of 15 minute reduction. Participants may also just run or walk in the 5k portion of the event. Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female net times for the Pump and Run and the overall male and female 5K winners.
Registration fees for the 5K event are $25 before Oct. 4 or $30 day of the event. Fees for the Pump and Run are $35 before Oct. 4 and $40 day of the event. Lifting Hopes is all volunteer led and all proceeds go to helping local kids and families battling childhood cancer.
